Becky Kern has been teaching dancing for more than 50 years. She has danced with Rosalie Bolen, Mr. Bookman, Selma Kissel, Marion Green & Lola Bauman. Becky also trained for years at Dance Caravan and workshops all over the country. This is Becky's tenth year of semi-retirement after turning the studio over to Sue in 1995. Sue Kern has been teaching dancing for more than 30 years, Her dance career started at BKDS at the age of 4. Sue trained for more than 10 years at Michael Simms', Steps Unlimited and Michael Newton's. Sue also danced with the Civic Ballet for several years. This is Sue's 13th year as director of BKDS. Cher Gagen-Gerbore is a graduate of Webster University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance). She has 16 years of teaching experience including 2 years at COCA in St. Louis. Her performance experience includes COCA Touring Company, Webster University Dance Ensemble, Webster Conservatory: "Brigadoom", Choreographer & Performer at Looking Glass Playhouse, ATREK Contemporary Dance Company & Webster University Senior Choreographic Project. Cher will be teaching Ballet, Pointe, Jazz & Modern and she will also be working with our competition groups. All of our teachers are required to go through a two year student teaching program before they are given their own classes. This program was set up so that our senior staff could monitor their progress, insuring a first rate teaching staff at BKDS. This is a list of our 2008-2009 staff:
