Obsolete Nissan Parts To Be Available Michael Spreadbury Instead of Nissan destroying all their old, ``obsolete parts, they have opted to ship the old stuff to a new warehouse in Wisconsin. It seems that Nissan's new-found interest in their heritage and the voices of all us crazy enough to drive around in 30 year old technology is paying off. Here is part of a Nissan Parts & Service Bulletin sent to all US dealers: ``Effective November 3, 1997, selected slow moving Genuine Nissan parts will be available through Dealer Parts Network (DPNI). On the basis of historical demand trends, Nissan Motor Corporation would normally scrap and no longer offer these slow moving parts. Through an agreement with Nissan, DPNI will continue to make this inventory available to authorized Nissan Dealers. DPNI will warehouse this inventory at their own facilities in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. These parts will continue to be covered by Nissan's applicable parts warranties." Nissan Considering Future Z Car Automotive Industries Magazine Cornered by the press during the recent Tokyo motor show, Nissan Exec Kanemitsu Anraku revealed that a ``lower cost alternative" to the discontinued and much lamented Z (sports) car is being considered Nissan's US market share target for `97 is 5.0%. The company's `96 market share was 5.2%. Nissan is hoping for good sales for the new Altima sedan and the Frontier Pickup Truck. |
